InvestFest and the Billionaire Mentor
Hello Rogue Investors,
Last year Bryan Rundell and I were fortunate enough to speak at InvestFest. InvestFest is one of the premier investing expositions in North America. Having put on our own Real Estate Expo, we know a first class event when we see it. What makes this event any better than other events?
1. The speakers are outstanding (I am going to talk about one of them shortly).
2. The investing topics are interesting and diverse, such as mortgage notes, energy plays in real estate, colored diamonds, internet companies, international real estate and motivational concepts from world-renown speakers.
3. The event is run professionally.
4. The location is beautiful (last year it was Calgary, this year it is Vancouver).
5. You can actually choose an investment and put your money to work. Some events only focus on books, tapes and seminars. InvestFest has a nice mixture of educational opportunities as well as true investments.
Bryan and I have been asked to return and we will be featuring two new opportunities:
1. InvestFest will be the first place that we allow anyone to purchase beachfront property at Ocean Star Estates. This is literally beachfront, no joking or exaggerating.
2. We also will be profiling how you can become part of the FIC Tax Foreclosure Fund, and the Tax Foreclosure Exchange – a new service that will allow you to buy liens, deeds and foreclosures online, with no travel or attending auctions.
InvestFest will be the first and only place we talk about these two new opportunities, so if you want in on the ground floor take action now! To sign up now (before May 15th) and receive a discount, visit this link: http://www.investfest2008.com/form_fic_rogue.php

Last year, in addition to being a featured speaker, Bryan and I signed up for our own training with billionaire business owner Bill Bartman. That training was so valuable that we immediately made changes to our business, which has helped dramatically. In this newsletter I want to share a few of the concepts that we learned and that you can, too.
First, let’s talk about Bill Bartman. For those of you who don’t know him, Mr. Bartman created a billion dollar business from the depths of despair. When collection agencies were threatening him with rude and mean tactics, Bill Bartman decided that a nicer approach to collections was in order. It certainly was, because he made a fortune.
Besides that, Bill Bartman is a super nice guy. He is approachable and "down to earth." Anyway, I won’t steal his thunder, but I will give you a nice taste of his wisdom.
Here are a few of his business secrets:
* Do what you love the most and figure out how to get paid for doing it.
* Don’t worry about the paperwork – sell something first!
* A good partner can make your business succeed and a bad partner can make your business fail.
* Profits buy you praise, but cash flow buys you time.
* The 80 – 20 Rule applies to hiring. Hire the 20% that do 80% of the work. These employees will usually have a job and may not be looking for another job.
* Praise in public, reprimand in private.
* When you ask for something from an employee or client, give a date and follow through on that date.
* Hire out what you hate.
* Set up systems in your business, such as training manuals. Not only is this good for your business, but lenders and banks love it.
Stay tuned for our next newsletter on credit. If you are in business, real estate investing or life for very long, you know how important it is to maintain good credit.
Happy investing,
Michael Williams
