7 Great Business Ideas for Extra Money
Hello Rogue Investors,
Welcome to Day 3 of 7 Days of Thanks
7 Great Business Ideas For Extra Money
1. Internet Business. Millions of Internet businesses are waiting to be created. How do I know? Well, I have created online businesses in categories such as hot tub covers and motorcycle helmets. All you need is an idea and some research. Products can be drop-shipped directly from the factory and you make a cut. Stay tuned for Day 4 and I’ll go into more detail on how to create an Internet Business
2. Thrift Shop. Ebay and Craig’s List have a business model that should be envied by all of us. However, I still prefer the old-fashioned garage sale where you can look, feel, and smell. Not only that, but you can negotiate live with a human. Judging by the continued economic mess, it is likely that thrift shops will proliferate. Why not start your own? With office space at a discount and many people looking to liquidate personal property or find a great deal outside of the mall, now is you time.
3. Writer. Information is king, but there is a problem. We are all supposed to be blogging, writing articles and generating content constantly. That is where you come in as a ghostwriter. You are paid to write the articles, update their blogs, and create web pages. This trend is so popular that entire business models are thriving now by hooking up ghostwriters with businesses who need the content.
4. Handy person. When you can solve a problem your job is secure. In the midst of prosperity or economic doom, millions of households need small repairs. You can trust the Yellow Pages or a handy person who can make small repairs, such as leaky toilets, light fixtures, faucets, decks, and other odd jobs. Please be aware that most cities require businesses to have permits and be licensed.
5. Tech. Guru. If you have a flair for technology you are in the driver’s seat. I can tell you that we have called our technology specialist (Steve) about three times in the last week alone. Let’s see, email spamming on our server, a PHP script that was not working and a hard drive that crashed. The pendulum swings both ways. With technology and ease of business comes technology and issues. This niche is a huge word of mouth opportunity. Believe me, if you can setup printers, fix Internet access issues, or repair a virus-infected P.C., your extra income is guaranteed.
6. Lawn maintenance/snow removal. One of the most simple cash flow careers involves little more than a lawn mower, rake and snow shovel. Of course, you are giving up your time for money, but what could be easier. You can mow a yard or shovel a driveway or earn the same amount by working half a day at Subway or Macys. Early on I chose this job as my first entrepreneurial venture. With only a $30 lawnmower and a lot of sweat, I earned enough money as a teenager to buy my first car. Nothing has really changed since then. Most homeowners, especially the elderly, would rather have someone take care of mowing the lawn, shoveling the driveway and raking leaves.
7. Pet/House Sitting. Pets are the next kids. The pet care industry is huge and like baby sitting, all pet owners dream of leaving their “baby” in good hands and more than anything in their own house. Again, with a little creative imagination, a flyer and word of mouth, you can create a pet and house sitting business that will thrive.
All the best,
Michael Williams
