Welcome to Day 5 of 7 Days of Thanks
7 Credit Concepts You Should Know
1. Your credit score is a number between 300 and 850. Another name for your credit score is your FICO score. High credit is above 700; moderate credit is between 620 and 699; low credit is between 500 and 619; poor credit is below 500. Your credit report(s) and your credit score are different.
2. MyFICO.com. This is the official site to check your credit score.
3. Credit Reporting Agencies. There are three agencies to check: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Chances are good that the information they have will not be the same and you will see mistakes. You should request that the agencies fix any mistake.
5. Keep accounts open. One way to enhance your credit is to keep accounts open, even if you don’t plan on using them.
6. Keep your credit balances below 30%. Enough said. This is a good idea anyway.
7. Pay on time. This is really the best way to maintain your credit.
If you are interested in more information, I can put you in touch with a credit repair specialist. It may be worth your money when you consider how much poor credit can cost you in a lifetime. A few changes or disputes could potentially be worth thousands of dollars.
P.S. Stay tuned tomorrow for day 6 of 7 Days of Thanks…
