No Double Bottom with Tax Lien Certificates

Hello Rogue Investors,

I know some pretty smart people are predicting a double bottom in the U.S. stock market. What that means is the rebound and small amount of euphoria we are experiencing in the market may be lost again as the DOW and other indicators plummet to possibly around 7500. Then again, we could be on our way to 15000.

Of course know one knows, but I agree that we have set ourselves up for a weakening dollar, higher inflation and oil and gas prices that will make us burn our SUVs in the streets.

Diversify.

1. Make tax lien certificates part of your portfolio. Tax lien certificates do not fluctuate or bottom according to the latest economic indicators. The interest is constant and it’s backed by the underlying real estate.
2. Invest in energy, commodities or the safety of precious metals. This is a little more unpredictable because if you are investing in the stocks of mining or natural resource companies, your logic may be correct, but you cannot predict what will happen with individual companies, oftentimes working in developing nations. Precious metals like gold, silver and platinum are always a good hedge in inflationary times.
3. Invest in the new powerhouses. China and India are always on everyone’s mind, but what about Brazil, Indonesia, or Taiwan? Global economic power is shifting. Let’s not get caught by surprise.
4. Currency. The U.S. and Canadian dollars are strong relative to several major currencies, at least for now. Perhaps it is a good time to consider alternatives.
